Murrurundi is a rural town located in New South Wales, Australia, and is one of the areas hardest hit by Australia’s drought. Struggling with a low water supply, the town of Murrurundi needed a solution that would provide community members with drinking water security.
Water restrictions in the area left residents no choice but to cart in water from around 50 kilometers away – a costly, timely, and unsustainable short term drinking water solution. Residents who didn’t travel to other towns to collect drinking water relied on expensive, unreliable and environmentally harmful plastic bottled water.
Three Blue Ducks, a sustainably-minded farm to table restaurant, committed to supporting the town of Murrunrundi by donating 10 SOURCE Hydropanels to Murrurundi Primary School. Now the students, parents, and community members have continuous access to reliable, high-quality drinking water. The community’s spirit is lifted with the peace of mind of knowing that their access to safe, high-quality drinking water is secure, even in times of drought.
