  • How are SOURCE Hydropanel installed?

SOURCE Hydropanels are installed by our experienced team of installers and project developers.

  • Does SOURCE work at most humidity levels?

SOURCE produces water in communities with a wide range of climates. The array at our headquarters in Arizona makes water year-long despite low relative humidity.

  • What is the lifespan of a Hydropanel?

The lifespan of SOURCE Hydropanels depend on how they are maintained and the weather conditions in which they are located.

  • What if I have any issues with my SOURCE Hydropanels?

We offer in-house service and also work with local Certified SOURCE Installation partners to make sure your array receives immediate attention should it need servicing. To schedule service or speak to our Network Operations Team, you can reach us at +1-855-796-9283.

  • How much maintenance do SOURCE Hydropanels require?

SOURCE Hydropanels are low maintenance.  Like any standard appliance, Hydropanels require periodic filter and cartridge changes based on use.

  • Will pollution in the air make its way into my water?

SOURCE has a two step water production process that keeps any pollution in the air from getting into your water. First, the built-in air filter keeps particulates and other debris from finding their way into the Hydropanel. Second, because our patented material only attracts water molecules, the water produced is pure – similar to distilled – leaving anything else in the air behind.

  • Is SOURCE Water purified and filtered?

The patented material in our Hydropanel only attracts pure H2O molecules, ensuring SOURCE Water starts pure, unlike most water which starts dirty and has to be cleaned.

  • What regulatory standards does SOURCE Water meet?

SOURCE meets or exceeds water quality standards outlined in the Safe Drinking Water Act and local standards at SOURCE installations worldwide.

  • How is a SOURCE Hydropanel different than atmospheric water generation?

SOURCE is an off-grid, solar powered solution that can operate in nearly any climate around the world without connecting to external power.  Atmospheric water generators require great amounts of electricity to create water and only operate in high humidity, rendering them costly and often ineffective.

  • Will a large number of Hydropanels dry out the environment?

No! In fact, our scientists have calculated it would take at least 70,000 Hydropanels per person on Earth to begin to make an impact.

  • Where is SOURCE based?

SOURCE is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.

  • How can I join the SOURCE team?

We are always looking for innovative leaders to join our team. If you’re passionate about bringing water to every person in every place, please email contact@source.co with your cover letter and resume and the area of work you’d be interested in on the subject line. SOURCE Hydropanels can connect to any dispenser that supports 80 psi including:
    – Countertop hot/cold dispensers
    – A designated tap
    – Your refrigerator

  • Can I store my water?

Yes. SOURCE has several water storage solutions depending on your project needs – from in home reservoirs to large scale SOURCE Access Stations to support our commercial installations.

  • How is my water protected?

Your water quality is our top priority. That’s why Hydropanels are designed to protect water quality through five steps in your water’s journey:

    1. An integrated air filter keeps particulates and debris from finding their way into the Hydropanel
    2. When extracting the water vapor from the air, SOURCE only attracts water molecules, leaving everything in the air behind
    3. The conversion process inside the Hydropanel raises the dew point to drive condensation specifically for water
    4. Water stored in your reservoir is protected by an integrated sterilization system, keeping the environment inside the reservoir clean and your water’s quality pristine
    5. Finally, a polishing cartridge at the tap ensures no variation in quality between the reservoir and your tap

  • Does SOURCE work in freezing climates?

SOURCE Hydropanels are recommended for locations without a prolonged freeze.  When temperatures reach freezing, SOURCE Hydropanels enter hibernation mode and do not produce water.

  • Does SOURCE work on cloudy or rainy days?

Since Hydropanels are a solar-powered technology, SOURCE requires exposure to sunlight to make water. Hydropanel installations in severely cloudy areas may experience lower-than-average production. We encourage customers in these areas to include an additional Hydropanel in your array. Our team can run projected estimates on your location and provide a report for you to ensure your SOURCE array meets your needs.

  • Does SOURCE work in dry areas?

Yes, SOURCE is uniquely capable of making water in a wide range of conditions (including at our office in the arid Arizona desert!).

  • Can I use SOURCE for my whole home?

SOURCE Hydropanels make the most important water you need – the water you put in your body. Our Hydropanels are designed specifically to provide water for drinking and cooking, but arrays can be sized to meet any water production volume.

  • Do the Hydropanels produce energy for me to power my home?

SOURCE is a completely independent drinking water solution; it efficiently utilizes solar power to generate the right amount of electricity required to run its own system to produce water and charge the battery that ensures you can dispense water at night. SOURCE can easily coexist with a solar PV panel array on the same roof to provide the power needs you would like satisfied.

No. SOURCE utilizes solar power for the onboard systems required to produce water and charge the battery to ensure you can dispense water at night. SOURCE can easily coexist with a solar PV array on the same roof to generate energy for your home.

  • What are the dimensions and footprint of SOURCE Hydropanels?

Hydropanels are 2.4m long x 1.2m wide x 1.13m tall when mounted at 45 degrees.

  • How much does each Hydropanel weigh?

Each SOURCE Hydropanel weighs 340 lbs (dry weight). For rooftop commercial installations, SOURCE installers ensure that Hydropanels are mounted to the roof in a manner that properly supports your array. At this time, ground mounting is recommended for residential installations.

There is a nonrefundable fee of $100 when you place your order for the residential Hydropanel. The full purchase price of your Hydropanel will be due and payable prior to shipment at which time your deposit will be applied toward the purchase price.

  • How many panels do I need for my home?

This depends on how many people are living in the household and their drinking water consumption. Each Hydropanel will produce approximately 180 standard bottles of water per month. We recommend at least one panel for every two people living in the home.

  • The Residential Hydropanels come with a 4.8 Gallon under sink storage tank. How do I know if I need a larger tank?

20 Gallon and 40 Gallon tank options are available for purchase with any residential Hydropanel. Larger tanks can be connected to the under the sink tank to provide more water storage for larger families or in areas where there may be prolonged cloud coverage.
